I have to say, taking my own family photos is not one of my favorite activities. Taking other family photos is fun, because usually everyone is on their best behavior for the photographer, who is a non-member of the family. People are cooperative and polite, especially if they don't know you that well. Taking pictures (using a remote or self timer no less) for your own family is a different story. They are comfortable with you and aren't afraid to voice their discomfort when you pose them a certain way. This is particularly true if you're the baby of the family and your older brother and dad would rather stick pins and needles in their eyes than have their picture taken, by you or anyone else.

This Christmas and New Year was a special occasion though. This was the first time in at least three years (maybe even longer, I can't remember) we've all been together for the holidays. In those three years, we've added two new spouses, a fiance, and two babies! Even though our family is going to grow even more this year, (another baby is on the way!) we thought it would be a good idea to document the present occasion. Thankfully, everyone was mostly compliant and cooperative for a few moments to get some good shots in.

My family also took a few photos on Christmas Day to celebrate the announcement of grand baby #2. Everyone was truly in the Christmas spirit that day because no one complained once about taking a picture! Which was reason enough to remember the moment itself.

From our family to yours, happy holidays!
